The Other Boleyn Girl

honestly boggling - mary is supposedly the main character, but in casting natalie portman, they had to make anne the main role. why didn't they just cast natalie as mary, and cast keira knightley as anne (or vice versa?). also casting eric bana as henry viii??? the man is too handsome and buff for this role. i wish the dynamic between sisters was the most important thing rather than seducing the king... i wish we got to see their dynamic beforehand, untouched by court, as a sister relationship worth mourning for. instead, anne boleyn is slut shamed again, and frankly it's kinda a tired depiction. but ofc, natalie portman and scarjo are great, boggling casting choices aside. i also really loved the side profile shots too, you can always feel the power dynamics. costumes are also great considering that they weren't allergic to head gear.
